New Silver Line Ad Shows Riders Dancing In The Streets (WATCH)

LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — Metro’s long-awaited Silver Line will finally begin carrying passengers to and from Northern Virginia this Saturday.

A series of TV commercials advertising the new line was released in June, but a brand new one (above) surfaced Thursday.

It features the song “Escapee” by Architecture in Helsinki and the dance moves were choreographed by Michael Stokes, a D.C. resident, Metro says. The commercial was filmed at the new Wiehle-Reston East station, inside the transportation center on the north side of the station, and in a nearby neighborhood.

The ad includes 30 dancers from the region – ages 8 to 78 – and 15 Metro employees – including bus and rail operators, Metro Transit Police, station managers, and car maintenance staff.

Two business leaders from the area the Silver Line will serve — Michael Caplin, Executive Director of the Tysons Partnership, and Jim Corcoran, President and CEO of the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce — are in the ad, as well.
