LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — A man who taunted Anne Arundel County police on Facebook after they posted his photo as part of their “Wanted Wednesday” feature was caught the very next day.

Police say they had an outstanding warrant for 28-year-old Roger Ray Ireland, of Edgewater, because he violated probation.

After the department posted his photo online Wednesday, followers immediately began commenting and sharing it.

Eventually, Ireland himself commented on the thread, saying “Y’all will never catch me.”

On Thursday, detectives followed up on some tips they received about Ireland.

It didn’t take long for them to locate his vehicle in South Baltimore near the Anne Arundel County line. At around 1 p.m., they pulled him over and took him into custody.
