WHITE MARSH, Md. — Baltimore County police have identified the man shot by an officer during a confrontation in White Marsh on Tuesday as 19-year-old Briatay McDuffie.

Police fatally shot McDuffie after the man fled from a crashed car that had been reported as stolen from Baltimore city.

Police said two other men were arrested after they, too, bailed out of the stolen 2013 Toyota Corolla early Tuesday in a residential neighborhood.

The agency said the shooting followed a brief chase that began when officers tried to stop the car on Philadelphia Road at about 12:30 a.m.

Police said the driver rammed the patrol car and took off. The chase ended when the driver crashed into a parked car on Madge Court, and all three men ran into a wooded area.
