LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — A widespread Verizon outage in the Baltimore-Washington region has been mostly restored, although some customers are still reporting service issues.
Verizon customers first started noticing the outage — which mostly impacted Internet service, but also TV and wireless service — at about 7 p.m. Sunday. Verizon officials say service issue was fixed just after midnight Monday.
“It may have affected some FiOS customers in the Washington/Baltimore area from early last evening through about 12:30 a.m. [Monday],” Verizon said in a statement.
Despite Verizon saying the large problem has been correct, the service provider’s outage map shows service problems throughout the D.C. area.
“Others who may still be having issues, those may be individual troubles and unrelated to the larger issue, which was corrected,” Verizon said.
Some affected customers have between tweeting about their outage using #VerizonOutage.
