LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — Two local barbecue joints — one in D.C. and one in Maryland — made Open Table’s list of the nation’s top 30.
The winners were chosen after Open Table analyzed more than 5 million diner-submitted reviews of nearly 19,000 restaurants across the country.
The Maryland restaurant that made the list is Annapolis Smokehouse, located in the Bay Ridge Shopping Center. In D.C., the standout is Hill Country Barbecue Market in Northwest.
Annapolis Smokehouse features live music every weekend, and compliments its meats (ribs, chicken, sausage, brisket, pulled pork) with fun menu items like chicken and waffles and Natty Boh beer-battered onion rings.
The District’s Hill Country Barbecue Market also has live music in-house, but has a more basic menu — think beef, pork, sausage and chicken with simple sides like slaw, beans or mac and cheese.
