Motorcyclist Killed in Collision With Tree in Upper Marlboro

LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) – A motorcyclist has died after colliding with a tree in Upper Marlboro Saturday night.

Prince George’s County Police say 34-year-old Jeffrey Shackelford of Upper Marlboro was critically injured when his motorcycle left the roadway and struck a tree near the intersection of John Rodgers Boulevard and Lords Landing Road.

He was taken to a local hospital where he died a short time later.

Investigators are looking into whether speed was a factor in the crash.
