UPDATE (July 14, 4:33 p.m.): Tian You Jiang was located safe and unharmed. Police say he was in China.

LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — Police in Rockville are asking for the public’s help in locating an autistic man who went missing from his home in the predawn hours of July 8.

Tian You Jiang, 27, of the 400 block of North Horners Lane, is 5-foot-7, 120 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair.

He left a note indicating that he may have traveled to New York. Family members believe he may have traveled via the Eastern Bus Service, which picks up passengers at 7 a.m. daily at the Great Wall Supermarket, at 305 North Washington Street in Rockville.

Jianghas the mental capacity of an 11- or 12-year-old, family members say. He is believed to have money and an ID with him.

Anyone with information about Jiang’s whereabouts is asked to call Rockville City Police Department’s Criminal Investigative Unit, which handles missing person cases, at 240-314-8938.
