Man Sought For Identifying Himself as Cable Employee, Burglarizing Homes

LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — A burglar who identified himself as a cable company employee to burglarize homes in the District struck the residence of mayoral candidate Muriel Bowser’s parents, WNEW Senior Correspondent Mark Segraves reports.

D.C. police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a person of interest in connection with burglaries, which occurred around 9 a.m. Thursday in the 4800 block of 7th Street and the 1000 block of Crittenden Street.

The residences are less than half a mile away from each other.

The man stole two cell phones from Bowser’s parents, and they are “shaken up and angry” about the incident, Segraves reports.
