HANOVER, Md. — Police in Anne Arundel County are identifying the man whose body was recovered from a pond area near Arundel Mills mall.
Police have identified the man as 26-year-old Tavon Talley of Baltimore. Police have said Talley fled from mall security officers on Monday night, jumped into a three-acre stormwater runoff pond and began to swim.
Police said at one point he appeared to dive head first into the pond, which is thick with sediment and underwater vegetation, and did not resurface.
The body was recovered about 11:15 p.m. Monday from near the middle of the pond.
