Massive Fire Burns Through Classrooms at Waldorf School

LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) – Officials in Charles County say lightning likely sparked a two-alarm fire that burned through more than a dozen classrooms at a Waldorf middle school Wednesday night.
Charles County Fire spokesperson Bill Smith tells WNEW that the fire at John Hanson Middle School began around 6:30 p.m.
The blaze destroyed 19 temporary trailer classrooms before crews were able to knock it down about two hours later. The main building of the school was not damaged.
No injuries were reported.
