WASHINGTON (WNEW) — D.C.’s Navy Yard skyline near Nationals Park is now a little less colorful and quirky, as construction crews have demolished a temporary art project nearby.

If you have been to that area in the last seven months, there’s only a slim chance that you missed the six-story Tyrannosaurus rex and masked man playing cat’s cradle, or the grumpy bat on the side of the windowless government building.

“The fact that it got as much life as it did is really great,” says Kelly Towles, the artist.

“All good things must come to an end- just looking forward to making something new – who’s got a wall?” Towles said to a fan mourning the mural on Twitter.
