LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — A 13-year-old girl is dead and an adult woman is injured after a car struck them as they watched a soccer game Tuesday night in Silver Spring.

Three people were driving a Ford Escape in the rear parking lot of Eastern Middle School when the car left the lot, struck a sign and tree before colliding with the spectators around 8:32 p.m., police say.

The 13-year-old was taken to the hospital where she later died, according to Montgomery County Police. The girl has been identified as Deborah Roxana Reyes Casasola of the 900 block of Northhampton Drive in Silver Spring.

The woman was also taken to the hospital with a leg injury and is expected to survive.

Police say the three adults inside the car are not cooperating with investigators and are refusing to say who was driving.

Although a number of witnesses have provided detectives with helpful information, police are asking anyone who may have seen the accident to call detectives at 240-773-6620.

Video shows the path the car traveled before striking the teen.
