Nats Activate Bryce Harper in Time for ‘Bryce Harper Bobblehead Night’
WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — Monday night is Bryce Harper Bobblehead night at Nationals Park, just in time for the bobble’s namesake, Bryce Harper’s return.
The Nationals activated Harper from the 15-day disabled list Monday afternoon, making him available to rejoin the lineup after missing 59 games with a torn collateral ligament in his left thumb, the team announced ahead of hosting the Colorado Rockies.
Harper last appeared in the Nationals lineup April 25.
If his latest rehab appearance for the Triple-A Harrisburg Senators was any indication, Harper’s bat — which launched three home runs in a 4-for-5/5 RBI night in Akron on Saturday — is MLB ready.
Prior to injuring his thumb, Harper hit .270/.352/.422 with one home run and 9 RBI through 22 games.
The first 25,000 Nationals fans to arrive at the park Monday will receive a Bryce Harper bobblehead, which will be available at all gates, the team says.
Also, fans who purchase any Under Armour T-shirt at the Nationals main team store at Monday’s game will also receive a Bryce Harper bobblehead.
