COCKEYSVILLE, Md. (WNEW/AP) — Police divers recovered the body of a man who went missing Saturday from a swim club in Hunt Valley.
Around 7:40 p.m. Sunday, Baltimore County police say they found the body of 36-year-old Steve Curtis Jennings Jr., of New Carrolton, in the water at the Beaver Dam Swim Club.
Police were searching for Jennings who went missing while swimming in a quarry in Cockeysville.
A 911 caller reported that the man had last been seen two hours before the call was made Saturday afternoon.
Rescue workers and volunteer divers searched for the man for nearly three hours, at which point rescue operations were stopped and police took over.
Police divers started searching the quarry again Sunday morning. The swim club advertises that the water in the quarry averages 40 feet deep. The club was closed on Sunday while the search was ongoing.
His body will be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore City.
