D.C. Police Investigate 3-Year-Old Boy’s Death as Homicide

LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — A 3-year-old boy was found dead in Southeast, D.C., Tuesday morning, and police say they are investigating his death as a homicide.
Police say the boy was found unconscious and unresponsive in the 2500 block of Pomeroy Road around 11 a.m. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The toddler is identified as Xavier Lyles of Southeast.
After an autopsy was performed, the cause of death was determined to be “multiple blunt force injuries,” police say. The manner of death was ruled a homicide.
The investigation is ongoing.
