Burger Chain Tests Sandwich Stuffed With Mashed Potatoes
LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — The sibling restaurant chain to Hardee’s, Carl’s Jr., is testing out the latest, crazy-sounding fast food menu items.
“Mashers,” as they are called, are burgers or chicken sandwiches topped with garlic mashed potatoes, truffle gravy and fried onions.
According to Energy1037, a San Diego-based radio station, Mashers are only available currently at eight Carl’s Jr. locations. Carl’s Jr. restaurants, if you’re unfamiliar, are primarily found in the Western and Southwestern U.S. states.
But if the test market responds well to the sandwiches, Energy1037 says, then Mashers could be added to the menu at Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s locations nationwide.
The Big Chicken Masher reportedly contains 900 calories and 47 grams of fat, while the Burger Masher Thick Burger contains 790 calories and 42 grams of fat.
