LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — The Alexandria Police Department announced Wednesday that they are “narrowing the scope” of their investigations to Charles Severance as its primary focus.
Police say they continue to actively investigate the homicide cases of Ruthanne Lodato, Ron Kirby and Nancy Dunning, but no arrests have been made relating to these crimes.
“We continue to investigate and then we examine the facts and the evidence we have related to the cases to determine when charges would be appropriate,” Alexandria Police spokeswoman Crystal Nosal said.
Authorities say the investigations have been complex and time-consuming endeavors.
Shortly before Severance’s arrest in West Virginia, police say a tip came in which brought their attention to Severance.
Police say they are actively examining the facts and evidence related to these cases.
