Police: Shooting In Gaithersburg Parking Garage Likely Murder-Suicide

LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — Police in Montgomery County are investigating the deaths of a man and woman inside a Gaithersburg parking garage as a murder-suicide.
Officers working near Girard Street and Allied Place heard gunshots around 11:20 p.m. Sunday, officials say. A short time later, they discovered 38-year-old David Reid Jr. suffering from gunshot wounds inside of a garage in the 500 block of Raven Avenue.
As paramedics were assisting the man, officers spotted 39-year-old Michelle Reid with a handgun who appeared to be hiding between parked cars, authorities say. She shot her herself after making contact with the officers, according to police.
Both victims were taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
Authorities believe it the two were estranged husband and wife.
