UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WNEW) — A club that no one ever wants to join, but where everyone is welcome.

That’s how the mother of a fallen police officer feels about “C.O.P.S.” (Concerns of Police Survivors).

Police officers rode their motorcycles around Maryland on Sunday to raise money for C.O.P.S., which helps benefit the families of officers killed in the line of duty. The ride began at the FOP Lodge #89 in Upper Marlboro.

Hundreds of riders came out in support of the 15th annual “C.O.P.S. Ride.” Last year, the ride raised $70,000.
