LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — A Frederick man has been arrested and charged with assault after attacking another man with a sword during an argument.
Police say 31-year-old Shan Edward Oney was verbally arguing with a man on Friday when he went into his home and returned with a sword. Oney pointed the sword at the man’s neck and threatened him before swinging the sword in the area of his chest.
The man was able to block the sword with his hand and was subsequently taken to a local hospital and later released.
Oney has been charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and carrying a dangerous weapon.
