Ben & Jerry’s Truck Brings Free Ice Cream to D.C.

LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — Tuesday is a day for ice cream lovers in the District to rejoice.
The Ben & Jerry’s ice cream truck will be in the nation’s capital giving away free deliciousness as temperatures flirt with 90 degrees.
The truck’s official Twitter account, @BenJerrysTruck, has been teasing the D.C. giveaway since last week. On Monday night, the account hyped the truck’s arrival by tweeting a photo of a pint of Salted Caramel Core ice cream with the Washington Monument prominently featured in the background.
The giveaway is part of the company’s Core Tour to promote a new line of ice cream flavors.
The Salted Caramel Core flavor is a sweet cream ice cream is paired with blonde brownies and a salted caramel core, according to its container.
People are encouraged to tweet the truck requests for where they’d like it to come set up shop.
