Baltimore County Firefighter Dies During Training Exercise

UPDATE: May 31, 2014 2:10 p.m.

LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — A 27-year veteran of the Baltimore County Fire Department has died after going into cardiac arrest during a training exercise.

Robert Fogle III, 58, was stationed at the Pikesville station.

Fire officials tell WJZ that Fogle was in a maze using a breathing apparatus, a drill every firefighter does once a year.

He was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Fogle is survived by his wife and two adult children.

Governor Martin O’Malley ordered the Maryland State Flag flown at half-staff Saturday in honor of Firefighter Robert Fogle III.
