LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — College football players from capital region area fared well in this year’s NFL draft.

Of the 256 players drafted, 18 were from either Maryland, Virginia, or the District.

Archbishop Carroll product Jeremiah Attaochu was selected in the second-round by the San Diego Chargers. Despite being the lone D.C. representative in this year’s draft, the nation’s capital still ranked fifth among all 50 states (and the District) in players drafted per capita.
