LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) – Bank robbers in the D.C. area are going to new levels to disguise themselves.

Police in Prince George’s believe a man dressed as a woman walked into a bank in Bowie and demanded cash.

It happened just after 12:00 p.m. on May 23 in the 4300 block of Collington Road.

The suspect approached a teller and implied he had a weapon, according to authorities. The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of money before he fled.

Police say they believe the suspect is an African-American man dressed as a woman.

Anyone with information is asked to call the CID/Robbery Unit at 301-772-4905. Callers can remain anonymous by calling CRIME SOLVERS at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers is offering a CASH REWARD up to $1000 for tips that lead to an arrest and indictment in this case.
