Man Rescued From Md. River; Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries

LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — A 22-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after being rescued from the edge of a river in Carroll County.

Howard County Fire and Rescue and Carroll County Water Rescue/Dive Team responded to the Patapsco River near Henryton Road in Marriottsville around 12:30 p.m. Sunday for reports of a child in the water.

Once they arrived, they found a man that was partially submerged in the water at the end of the road in cardiac arrest. The man received CPR on the scene and was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Carroll County took the lead after it was determined that the river fell in their jurisdiction.
