LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — A Woodbridge teenager was arrested and charged with murder after stabbing another man to death after an argument escalated between the two.
Prince William County Police say they arrested 19-year-old Mykell Kyree Anderson on Friday and have charged him with murder. He is being held without bond.
On Friday around 1 p.m., officers responded to the 1900 block of Darlington Loop to investigate a stabbing. Police arrived at the scene and found an adult man on the sidewalk suffering from a stab wound to the upper body.
The man is identified as 22-year-old Lawa Weah, of Dumfries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation revealed that the Weah went to the Anderson’s residence where a verbal argument ensued between the two men on the front stoop of the home. The argument escalated when Anderson pulled out a knife and fatally stabbed the Weah.
Anderson was taken into custody at his residence without further incident. Police say the men were known to one another.
Anderson’s court date is scheduled for July 15.
This incident is Prince William County’s second murder of 2014.
