Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Murphy led the Football Bowl Subdivision with 15 sacks and earned All-Pac-12 first team honors during his senior season.
With Murphy’s signing, tackle Morgan Moses — the team’s third-round selection out of Virginia — is Washington’s only unsigned draft pick.
The Redskins also signed free-agent wide receiver Rashad Ross and waived wide receiver Kofi Hughes.
Ross, who played at Arizona State, spent parts of the 2013 season on the practice squads of the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs. He was released by the Chiefs on May 12.
