WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – The Washington Redskins will part ways with longtime director of pro personnel Morocco Brown, who will become the Cleveland Browns new vice president of player personnel, multiple outlets are reporting.

John Keim of ESPN has confirmed Brown has accepted a position with Cleveland, as first reported by Mary Kay Cabot, which would appear to be a promotion for Brown.

Brown would have been entering his sixth season with the Redskins, hired as the director of pro personnel in 2008, and had interviewed for multiple general manager vacancies outside the organization in recent years. He was most recently passed over for the Buccaneers GM position, for which he interviewed in January.

For the Redskins, Brown had been responsible for advanced scouting of opponents, and scouting of potential free agent and trade prospects.

He’ll join former Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, now serving in the same role with the Browns.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
