First Lady: Daughter Will Be Driving This Summer
WASHINGTON (AP) — Michelle Obama has a warning of sorts for Washington: Her daughter Malia will be driving this summer.
The first lady disclosed the information in a taped interview broadcast Tuesday by the entertainment news show “Access Hollywood.”
When asked about 15-year-old Malia and 12-year-old Sasha, Mrs. Obama replies that the girls are counting down to summer, volunteering and getting ready for camp and internships. She says one child will be driving this summer, then adds jokingly: “Look out.”
Malia turns 16 on July 4, making her eligible for a learner’s permit in the District of Columbia.
Asked whether Secret Service agents will be in the back seat while Malia is behind the wheel, Mrs. Obama tells host Billy Bush only that “we’ve got a plan.”
