WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – The Washington Redskins will host joint training camp practices with the New England Patriots in Richmond, Va. this August, the team announced Monday.

The joint practices will be held at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center between Monday, Aug. 4 and Wednesday, Aug. 6., leading into both teams’ 2014 preseason debut on Thursday, Aug. 7 at FedExField.

All joint practices will be open and free for the public to attend.

“Who would have guessed that we’d have two NFL teams playing football right in the center of our city,” Richmond Mayor Dwight C. Jones said.

“Our state-of-the-art training facility is generating excitement and exposure for Richmond, Virginia even beyond what I envisioned,” he said. “Welcoming the New England Patriots to Richmond for practice sessions with the Washington Redskins this summer couldn’t be more thrilling.”

More details will be announced at a later date.
