GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WNEW/AP) — Anne Arundel County Police have charged a man with second-degree murder after a woman was found stabbed in a medical office building Monday morning.
Twenty-five-year-old Joseph Patrick Soule of Pasadena was arrested Friday and charged with killing 43-year-old Christie Lynn Pelland of Pasadena.
Police say an employee found Pelland’s body in a gynecologist’s office in the Medical Arts Centre of Glen Burnie Monday morning. Pelland had been stabbed more than 30 times and left to die.
The break in the case came after police obtained surveillance footage of the suspect in just his socks. They say he ditched his shoes because they were soaked in blood during the crime.
Investigators tell WNEW’s Chuck Carroll that Soule and Pelland knew each other, and were both heroin addicts.
