LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — A party supply store was significantly damaged when a car drove off the road and into the front of the business Thursday morning in Annapolis.

The store, which is located in the Festival at Riva shopping center on Forest Drive, was closed when the car crashed through front display and came to rest entirely inside the building shortly after 9 a.m.

Nobody was inside at the time, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

The store was scheduled to open at 9:30 a.m., according to hours listed on the company’s website.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the crash, police say.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

Police are awaiting a building inspector to examine the extent of the damage.
