LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — Frontier Airlines is beginning service to and from Dulles International Airport and is offering $15 fares during a 12-hour sale Tuesday.

The discounted fares are available for one-way, non-stop flights to 14 U.S. cities, including Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit, Orlando and Las Vegas. The other cities offered in the sale are Charlotte, Cincinnati, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Memphis, Minneapolis/St. Paul, St. Augustine/Jacksonville, St. Louis, and Tampa Bay.

The only catch is tickets must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. Tuesday and used before Nov. 19. The $15 ticket price includes all taxes and fees, but doesn’t include additional charges for bags and seat assignments.

A few hours after the sale began, Frontier acknowledged that their website was struggling to keep up with the high demand for the cheap tickets.

“We are aware of the website issues and are working to fix them as quickly as possible, a spokesperson said. “Following our announcement at IAD, we’ve seen very high volumes of website traffic today.”

The Denver-based airline will start flying out of Dulles on Aug. 19, but service to certain cities will begin later.
