Missing Autistic Teen in Prince George’s County

UPDATE: Police say Melanie Leonard has been found safe.

LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — Police are asking the public to help in finding a critical missing 18-year-old woman.

Melanie Virginia Leonard was last seen in the 3300 block of 27th Avenue in Temple Hills around noon on Sunday. Leonard suffers from autism and is unable to communicate.

Leonard is described as an African American female, medium complexion, 5 feet 2 inches weighing 170 pounds. Her clothing description is unknown, however, she usually wears a head scarf.

Leonard has a slight limp when she walks.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Regional Investigation Division-Southern Region at (301) 749-5064.
