WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins could be back on the trading block just hours away from the start of the 2014 NFL Draft, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

Cousins said definitively in February he’s “open to a trade,” adding in an interview later that month he’d “love to be able to prove people wrong” for trying to place a value on him equivalent of a draft pick.

While the Browns seemed interested in Cousins’ services a few months back — possibly in exchange for a mid-round pick, La Canfora notes — they have not contacted the Redskins about him since, according to La Canfora.

The Redskins organization had initially said Cousins would be available, for nothing less than a second-round pick, but later said publicly he was not available for trade.

The Browns would have two opportunities to draft a quarterback in the first round with the 4th and 26th picks.

La Canfora also notes Cleveland could be targeting either Johnny Manziel or Derek Carr with those picks. If they pass on both, or neither quarterback is available when the Browns are picking, that could be an ideal time for Cousins trade rumors to pick up.
