WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – DeAngelo Hall of the Washington Redskins may not think Richard Sherman is the best corner in the NFL, but he’s at least happy Sherman’s now getting paid like he is, after the Seahawks announced Sherman’s contract extension on Wednesday.
Sherman becomes the highest-paid corner in the league with his new $57.4 million deal, of which $40 million is guaranteed.
Back in March, Hall and Sherman engaged in a brutal back-and-forth on Twitter, with the two swinging their statistics around as to who was the better corner. The day after, Hall said Sherman “doesn’t even crack that top 3” at his position.
And even earlier, in January, Hall asserted it was “screwed” to call Sherman the best corner, pointing to his prominent Seahawks surrounding cast for making him appear better than he is.
All that was just talk, it appears, as Hall was one of the first to congratulate Sherman on his new deal.
Congrats @RSherman_25 I'm all about guys getting paid. You said you the best, they paid you like you the best. That's all that matters. $$$—
