Pedestrian Struck Along Route 1 in College Park

WASHINGTON (WNEW) — A male pedestrian was struck along Route 1 and Knox Road in College Park early Saturday morning, the third such instance along the same stretch of road in a month’s time.

Police have yet to comment on the pedestrian’s condition.

According to The Diamondback, the pedestrian was crossing Route 1 around 2:30 a.m. when he was struck, and was later taken to a local hospital.

On April 11, 23-year-old Carlos Pacanins of Chevy Chase was fatally struck in or near a crosswalk trying to cross Baltimore Avenue.

Another pedestrian was struck, and sustained nonfatal injuries, on April 19, The Diamondback reports.
