String of Burglaries Hit Towson University
LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) – Jewelry, money, medication and other items have been stolen in a series of burglaries in off-campus apartments near Towson University, police say.
Baltimore County Police says 10 burglaries over the past month have mainly targeted female students, with most of the crimes occurring overnight.
The suspect has gained access through unlocked doors or windows, according to authorities.
Police are advising students, especially women, to secure their doors and windows and report suspicious activity to police. Officials also suggest that students avoid telling others on social media when they are not home as criminals may take advantage of empty rooms.
Police have no suspect description at this time.
The burglaries have occurred in several locations near campus since April 4: Donnington Circle, Charles View Way, Greenview Terrace, Fellowship Court and Donnybrook Lane.
