SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. — A Maryland woman convicted of killing her boyfriend at a Virginia campground is due in court for sentencing.
The hearing for 78-year-old Lillian Mae Levy of Mechanicsville, Maryland, is set for Thursday morning in Spotsylvania County Circuit Court. Levy entered Alford pleas in February to second-degree murder and firearms charges.
An Alford plea is one in which a defendant acknowledges there was sufficient evidence for conviction but does not admit guilt.
Levy was accused of shooting 62-year-old James Thomas of Essex County on April 27, 2013, at Wilderness Presidential Resorts in Spotsylvania County. Thomas died 12 days later.
