WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – The NBA moved relatively swiftly in dealing a lifetime ban to Clippers owner Donald Sterling, considering it was only Sunday that racist remarks confirmed to be made by Sterling surfaced after being leaked to TMZ.

Along with his lifetime ban, Sterling will be forced to pay a $2.5 million fine, and could quite possibly have to sell his NBA franchise.

With this story casting such a large shadow over the sports world that it crossed over into mainstream America, many have offered public comment on NBA Commissioner Adam Silver’s ruling Tuesday, including Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III.

“Congrats to the NBA and Commissioner Silver showing great leadership,” Griffin tweeted after the announcement of the league’s findings.

With resolution finally having been reached, perhaps basketball fans can redirect their focus back to the playoff games currently underway. That same sentiment goes for Clippers players.

In the meantime, other notable public figures are sure to give their opinions on the matter.
