MOUNT RAINIER, Md. (WNEW) — There has been yet another instance of thieves stealing an ATM machine from a store in Maryland.
WNEW’s Jim MacKay reports that four suspects broke into a Mount Rainier BP Station that was only offering window service in the pre-dawn hours of Monday, took cash and cigarettes from the store and uprooted one of the store’s two ATM machines before taking off.
A store worker was also pistol-whipped, but suffered only minor injuries.
Mount Rainier Police Chief Michael Scott says the suspects were all black males and were in a white Ford pickup.
An attempt was made to steal an ATM from a CVS pharmacy in Forestville just last week.
