Foreign Exchange Student Sexually Assaults Daughter of Host Family in Va.

LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) – A foreign exchange student sexually assaulted the daughter of a couple he was living with in Virginia, police say.

A deputy with The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a domestic disturbance on April 19 at a home in Stafford County.

An investigation revealed that 20-year-old Hamad Alsuwat, the student residing at the home, had sexually assaulted the 17-year-old girl. Alsuwat was not at the home at the time.

He was arrested Sunday while trying to board a plane at Washington Dulles International Airport bound for Saudi Arabia.

The student has been charged with sexual assault.
