LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A broken gas line closed a busy portion of Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda for about an hour on Tuesday.

Washington Gas crews were able to get the break controlled by 11:48 a.m., according to Montgomery County Fire Department officials.

A number of businesses were evacuated due to the broken 1.25-inch gas line.

At least one worker has been taken to the hospital, authorities say. Their condition was not immediately available.
