LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — Six local radio stations, including All News 99.1 WNEW and 106.7 The Fan, will be moving to D.C.’s Capitol Riverfront later this year, Mayor Vincent Gray and CBS Radio announced Monday.

Construction on the new 33,000-square-foot facility — which will also be home to WPGC 95.5, 94.7 Fresh FM, El Zol 107.9 and CBS Sports Radio 1580 — will begin in May.

A performance space where local and national recording artists can host live shows and unique experiences for listeners will open this summer and the rest of the building is expected to be complete by the end of 2014.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to become the only broadcast group in downtown Washington, D.C., creating a unique venue for our employees, listeners and the community,” D.C. Market Manager Steve Swenson said.

“This new facility will allow an unfettered look into how we operate and provide fans of our stations with the chance to meet some of the top names in the music business and our own beloved personalities.”
