LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — D.C. Police say three men have been shot and at least one of them was seriously wounded in southeast Washington.

Police spokesman Officer Paul Metcalf says the incident occurred just before 4:45 p.m. He says all three of the victims were conscious and breathing as they were taken to a hospital.

Some of the victims appear to have sought treatment at a nearby firehouse.

Metcalf says investigators are trying to determine what happened at the crime scene and the motive for the shooting.

Police are looking for the alleged shooters, believed to be in their late teens, early 20’s. Police say a black SUV was seen at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
