WASHINGTON (WNEW) — Hundreds packed into the Upper Church of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Northeast Sunday afternoon for Palm Sunday services.
Marking the start of the Holy Week for Christians, the Catholic Church’s representative to the U.S. Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano delivered the homily.
He told the congregation that it is their god-given duty to wipe away the tears and help heal those who are wounded. The Archbishop also told the congregation not to let words of forgiveness get stuck in their throat, or let pettiness dominate them.
