Man Wanted For Rape of Pregnant Woman in Rockville
LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — Montgomery County Police are looking for a man wanted for the 2010 rape and robbery of a pregnant woman in Rockville.
Police say the 26-year-old woman was raped and robbed by two men at knife-point in a wooded area along Veirs Mill Road in the early morning hours of June 13, 2010.
Soon after the incident, police received a tip that identified one of the suspects as Jose Antonio Quintano-Claros. Police say Quintano-Claros fled the country but investigators recently learned he had returned to Montgomery County.
Quintano-Claros was arrested Wednesday in Rockville and police say he admitted to the 2010 rape and robbery. He is currently held on $10 million bond.
Police are still looking for the second suspect, who investigators believe goes by the nickname “El Brown.” The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-20s, about 5-feet-5-inches to 5-feet-6-inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds with short, dark hair.
Anyone with information about the second suspect or this case is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
