WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – The Washington Redskins have signed free agent punter Blake Clingan, the team announced on Tuesday.

Clingan (6-3, 223 pounds), 25, originally entered the NFL as a free agent with the Lions in March 2013. He spent last offseason on the roster, before being released prior to the start of the 2013 season.

He averaged 39.9 yards per punt in four seasons at Central Florida (2007-2010), finishing as the school’s all-time leader in punt yardage.

Clingan joins Robert Malone, signed in January, as the only punters on the Redskins roster.

Sav Rocca, who previously handled punts for the Redskins over the last three seasons, was released in March.
