Va. Mother Arrested After 2-Year-Old Found Wandering

LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — A mother was arrested after her 2-year-old son was found wandering the neighborhood unsupervised in Woodbridge, Va.
On Monday shortly after 2 p.m., officers say they responded to the 2500 block of Miranda Court for reports of a small child wandering around unsupervised. Officers and witnesses were unable to locate the child’s parents initially.
Police say the mother came forward from a nearby home. Investigators say the child was last seen at 11 a.m. that morning, and the mother was arrested.
The mother is identified as 39-year-old Golou Sylvie Kone and is charged with felony child neglect.
The child was not injured and was released to a family member.
