LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — The Washington Redskins are officially back at work in Ashburn.
The team returned to Redskins Park Monday to begin more than two months of voluntary offseason workouts with new head coach Jay Gruden at the healm. Under terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the players union and the league, teams with new head coaches may begin workouts two weeks earlier than teams with returning coaches.
The Redskins sent out a photo of their first day of workouts inside the practice bubble.
Meanwhile, newly signed wide receiver DeSean Jackson and veteran cornerback DeAngelo Hall appear to be on vacation.
Hall is enjoying a family vacation with the fine folks at Disney while Jackson is out of the country. Hall says he plans to be back with the team next week.
“Don’t worry (Redskins Nation) I’m in spring break with the kids, but I’m still working,” Hall tweeted Monday. “Can’t wait to get out there with the gang next week.”
The cornerback also said he “cleared everything with the head man” ahead of time.
“He knows my whereabouts trust me lol,” Hall tweeted.
It should be stressed that these workouts are voluntary and Jackson didn’t sign with the club until last week. The vacation was likely planned long before.
